“She leaves all the money. She just takes the plane, because that’s the one thing in the whole world that Kate does care about.”

JACK: I’m sorry, where do I remember you from?
KATE: I stole your pen.
JACK: What?
KATE: Uh… Oceanic 815, from Sydney? I bumped into you coming out of the bathroom, and I stole your pen.
JACK: And that’s how I know you?
KATE: No… that’s not how you know me.
KATE: I missed you so much.
*Jack has a flash*
KATE: Are you okay?
JACK: What is happening to me? Wh—who are you? I don’t—
KATE: I know, you don’t understand Jack. But if you come with me… you will.
[Favorite Jack/Kate kiss, asked by http://daddykillspeople.tumblr.com]
(Lost - 6x18 - The End)
Their last kiss is so damn epic & scenographic!
Did Kate ever tell him she loved him before this? I can’t remember.
He looks so young.
Daniel: In about four hours, the Dharma folks at the Swan site are going to drill into the ground and accidentally tap into a massive pocket of energy. The result of the release of this energy would be catastrophic. So, in order to contain it, they’re going to have to cement the entire area in, like Chernobyl. And this containment, the place they build over it, I believe you called it the hatch. The Swan hatch. Because of this one little accident, these people are going to spend the next 20 years keeping that energy at bay by pressing a button. A button that your friend Desmond will fail to push, and that will cause your plane, Oceanic 815 to crash on this island. And because your plane crashed, a freighter will be sent to this island. A freighter that I was on and Charlotte was on and so forth. This entire chain of events is going to start happening this afternoon. But, we can change that. I’ve studied relativistic physics my entire life. One thing emerged over and over. Can’t change the past, can’t do it. Whatever happened, happened. But then, I finally realized, I’ve been spending so much time on the constants that I forgot about the variables. Do you know what the variables in these equations are, Jack?
Jack: No.
Daniel: Us. We’re the variables. People. We think, we reason, we make choices. We have free will. We can change our destiny. I think I can negate that energy under the Swan. I think I can destroy it. If I can, then that hatch will never be built and your plane will land just like it’s supposed to in Los Angeles.
Kate: And just how, exactly, do you plan on destroying this energy?
Daniel: I’m going to detonate a hydrogen bomb.
*WTF Moment of season 5
Kate: He’s just a boy, Jack. You can’t just let him die.
Jack: You heard Miles. We can’t change what’s already happened. This has nothing to do with me.
Kate: Unless you’re the one who is supposed to save him.
Jack: Thirty years from now that boy’s going to be a man that locks me a cage because he needs surgery. And then you’re going to come in and you’re going to beg me to operate on him because he’s threatening to murder Sawyer. I’ve already done this. I’ve already saved Benjamin Linus, and I did it for you, Kate. I don’t need to do it again.
Kate: This is our fault. We brought Sayid back. We caused this.
Jack: When we were here before I spent all of my time trying to fix things. But did you ever think that maybe the island just wants to fix things itself? And maybe I was just getting in the way?
Kate: You know, I don’t like the new you. I like the old you who wouldn’t just sit around and wait for things to happen.
Jack: You didn’t like the old me, Kate.
*This is my favorite Jack season in some respects. He learns to stop accepting Kate’s wavering affections and speak up. He also learns to tell Locke to stfu when he’s sounding COMPLETELY insane. He decides to sit back for a few episodes and let Sawyer run the show for a little while, see how exhausting ‘leading’ is. He has his crap moments too but I generally can’t hate Jack.
Sawyer on the other hand is a gary stu in this season. UGH.
JACK: He didn’t mean it, you know.
KATE: What?
JACK: Sawyer. When he said that he didn’t want you to go with him, he didn’t mean it.
KATE: He didn’t mean it, why’d he say it?
JACK: He was trying to protect you. That’s why I asked you not to come back for me.
KATE: Hey. Why are you sticking up for Sawyer, he’d never do it for you.
JACK: Because I love you.
Sayid: Kate, if you were looking for help to find Jack why didn’t you ask us?
Kate: Two reasons — you don’t know where to look and you’re not motivated. And I don’t blame you. Why would you want to go on another trek across the island, risk more lives just to get Jack back?
Locke: You’re wrong.
Kate: Oh, really? Then why didn’t you come after…
Locke: Not about the motivation, just about knowing where to look. We got a compass bearing, and I’m pretty sure if we follow it it’ll lead us right to him.
Kate: How?
Sayid: Because of the way the sunlight hit Mr. Eko’s stick when John was burying him.
*Love the sarcasm in Sayid’s voice. Totally my feelings on the subject.
