Fringe
OMG Walter is getting high with Hurley. This is just too much.
When Jorge Garcia’s character refers to Alcatraz as “the island”…
BEN: I think Desmond’s gonna be okay.
HURLEY: Jack’s…gone…isn’t he?
BEN: He did his job, Hugo.
HURLEY: It’s my job now… What the hell am I supposed to do?
BEN: I think you do what you do best. Take care of people. You can start by helping Desmond get home.
HURLEY: But how? People can’t leave the Island.
BEN: That’s how Jacob ran things… Maybe there’s another way. A better way.
HURLEY: Will you help me?
BEN: I’m sorry?
HURLEY: I could really use someone with like, experience. For a little while. Will you help me, Ben?
BEN: I’d be honored.
HURLEY: Cool.
HURLEY: How are we getting down there?
JACK: We’re not, I’m going alone.
HURLEY: Dude, you can’t go down there alone. If Desmond didn’t make it, how the hell are you going to survive?
HURLEY: No. No way, I’m not gonna let you die.
JACK: Hurley, I’m already dead.
HURLEY: You said you’d protect the Island!
JACK: And that’s what I’m doing.
HURLEY: You’re committing suicide!
JACK: I’m not, this is the way it has to happen! This is what I’m supposed to do.
HURLEY: You’re not supposed to die! The Island needs you!
JACK: Hurley… it needs you.
HURLEY: What?
JACK: It needs to be you, Hugo.
HURLEY: I can’t… it’s supposed to be you!
JACK: It was only supposed to be me so I can do this. But if someone has to take care of the Island, if someone has to protect it then… then it should be you. Hurley… I believe in you.
HURLEY: Alright I’ll take it. But it’s only temporary, as soon as you get that light back in, I’m pulling you up, and I’m giving it right back to you, deal?!
JACK: Deal.
JACK: Do you have anything to drink? Anything to drink out of… uh… a cup, a canteen?
BEN: I do. *hands him an Oceanic water bottle* Is that okay?
JACK: It’s perfect.
JACK: Drink this.
HURLEY: Is that it?
JACK: Now you’re like me.
HURLEY: I got like, six different kinds of cheeses. I don’t even know what they are, but the lady at the store said they were good, so…figured you’d like cheese because…everybody likes cheese.
HURLEY: Something wrong?
LIBBY: No, not wrong, just…off.
HURLEY: Have you been here before?
LIBBY: No. It’s just being here with you…feels so familiar. It’s like a date we never had. Wow I sound completely insane, don’t I?
HURLEY: No…not completely.
LIBBY: Why do you even want to be with me?
HURLEY: Why do you want to be with me?
LIBBY: What?
HURLEY: C’mon. Look at me.
LIBBY: I wanna be with you because I like you.
HURLEY: Yeah but, you like me because…well…you’re…delusional.
*They kiss*
LIBBY: What? What’s wrong?
HURLEY: Whoa, dude.
LIBBY: What?
HURLEY: I…I think I’m remembering stuff.
LIBBY: You are? You mean I’m not crazy?
HURLEY: No, I don’t think you are.
HURLEY: Hey, you around? Michael? You’re stuck on the Island aren’t you?
MICHAEL: ‘Cause of what I did.
HURLEY: And…there’re others out here like you, aren’t there? That’s what the whispers are?
MICHAEL: Yeah. We’re the ones who can’t move on.
HURLEY: Do you know where Locke is?
MICHAEL: There.
HURLEY: Thanks. Is…is there anything I can do to…help you?
MICHAEL: Don’t get yourself killed.
HURLEY: Okay.
MICHAEL: And Hurley, if you ever do see Libby again, tell her I’m very sorry.
HURLEY: I’ll be sure and do that, dude.
RICHARD: I told you people, I don’t know anything!
HURLEY: Just calm down!
RICHARD: Why did you follow me?!
HURLEY: Your wife sent me.
RICHARD: What did you say?
HURLEY: I said your wife sent me. Isabella. She wants to know why you buried her cross.
RICHARD: H—how do you know about that?
HURLEY: Because she just told me.
RICHARD: What do you mean, just told you?
HURLEY: Isabella saw you dig it up, man. She’s standing right next to you.
ISABELLA: El no te cree. [He doesn’t believe you.]
HURLEY: A veces a las personas les toma un poco. [Sometimes it takes people awhile.]
RICHARD: I—I don’t see her.
ISABELLA: Dile que su inglés es magnífico. [Tell him his English is beautiful.]
HURLEY: She’s right there. She says your English is awesome.
RICHARD: ¿Estás tú realmente aquí? [Are you… really there?]
ISABELLA: Cierra tus ojos.
HURLEY: She wants you to close your eyes. It’s okay, I’ll tell you what she says.
ISABELLA: No fue tu culpa que yo morí, Ricardo.
HURLEY: No fue tu culpa que yo morí, Ricardo. [It wasn’t your fault that I died, Ricardo.]
ISABELLA: Por más que quisiste salvarme, era mi hora. [As much as you wanted to save me… it was my time.]
ISABELLA: Ya has sufrido suficiente, Ricardo. [You’ve suffered enough, Ricardo.]
RICHARD: Te extraño, yo… Yo haría cualquier cosa para estar juntos de nuevo. [I miss you — I would do anything for us to be together again.]
ISABELLA: Mi amor, ya estamos juntos. [My love. We are already together.]
RICHARD: Is she gone?
HURLEY: Yeah.
RICHARD: Thank you.
HURLEY: Yeah, you got it.
RICHARD: Something wrong?
HURLEY: She kinda said one more thing. Something you have to do.
RICHARD: What?
HURLEY: She said you have to stop the Man in Black. You have to stop him from leaving the island. ‘Cause if you don’t… todos nos vamos al infierno. [We all go to hell.]
*OMG, THIS SCENE. Not only is it Richard Alpert (whom I LOVE) but it’s Richard Alpert speaking loving Spanish to his dead love. I had to search down a translation for this because A. I suck at it and B. it’s too lovely in Spanish to have it just in English. (I did leave the translation in there for you, though)
Hurley: This is cool.
Jack: What?
Hurley: You know, you and me, trekking through the jungle on our way to do something that we don’t quite understand. Good times.
Hurley: Hello? Can you hear me? Why aren’t you answering any of my questions? My friend Jin’s gonna be here any second, so you better stop ignoring me…
Jacob: Your friend Jin won’t be able to see me.
Hurley: Why not?
Jacob: Because I died an hour ago.
Hurley:Sorry, dude. That sucks.
Jacob: Thanks.
Hurley: How’d you die?
Jacob: I was killed by an old friend who grew tired of my company.
Hurley: You want me to do something crazy again, don’t you?
Jacob: No. I need you to save Sayid, Hugo.
…
Hurley: Who are you, dude?
Jacob: I’m Jacob.
Chang: Your friend Faraday said that you were from the future. I need to know if he was telling the truth.
Hurley: Dude, that’s ridiculous.
Chang: What year were you born? What year?
Hurley: Uh… nineteen thirty-one?
Chang: You’re forty six?
Hurley: Yeah, Yes, I am.
Chang: So you fought in the Korean War?
Hurley: There’s no such thing…
Chang: Who’s the president of the United States?
Hurley: … All right, dude. We’re from the future.
Hurley: We lied mom.
Mrs. Reyes: What do you mean ‘you lied.’
Hurley: All of us. The Oceanic Six, we lied about what happened after the crash.
Mrs. Reyes: And what did happen?
Hurley: Okay. You see we did crash. But it was on this crazy island. We waited for rescue and there wasn’t any rescue. And there was a smoke monster. And there were other people on the island. We called them the Others. And they started attacking us. And we found some hatches and there was a button you had to push every one hundred and eight minutes or…. Well I was never really clear on that. But, the Others didn’t have anything to do with the hatches, that was the Dharma Initiative. They’re all dead. The Others killed them. And now they’re trying to kill us. And then we teamed up with the Others because some worse people were coming on a freighter. Desmond’s girlfriend’s father sent them to kill us. So we stole their helicopter and we flew to their freighter but it blew up. And we couldn’t go back to the island because it disappeared. So we crashed in the ocean and we floated there for a while until a boat came and picked us up. By then there was six of us. That part was true. [long pause] But the, but the rest of the people, who were on the plane, they’re still on that island.
Mrs. Reyes: I believe you. I don’t understand you but I believe you.
